“Over the Rainbow” from the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer production, The Wizard of Oz (1939), was written by Harold Arlen (composer) and Yip Harburg (lyricist). “Over the Rainbow” was performed by Judy Garland. Garland was only sixteen years old when she recorded her performance, though already had a decade of experience in the film industry by the time she was offered this career making role.

The song won the Academy Award for Best Original Song and it soon became her signature song. Only five minutes into the film, Dorothy sings “Over the Rainbow” after failing to get Aunt Em, Uncle Henry, and the farmhands to listen to her fantastic experience with her dog, Toto.

Conclusion:Playing Over the Rainbow is a wonderful way to practice melody and chord transitions on the piano. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced player, this arrangement provides a beautiful and accessible way to enjoy the timeless classic. Keep practicing, and soon you'll be playing it with ease and expression! Happy playing! 🎹✨
